Wildwood Cottages

Wildwood's 100 acre, waterfront property has excellent walks and views of the magnificent Gippsland Lakes system and Bass Strait over the Ninety Mile Beach. The foreshore boasts a private jetty and beach, where excellent fishing and swimming can be enjoyed.

There are two cottages. Wildwood Homestead is quite close to Appletree Cottage, separated by trees and shrubs - ideal for two families, if so desired.

Appletree Cottage is in an established garden, where you can enjoy breakfast with colourful native birds on the sun-filtered patio.
The cottage is fully self contained - a comfortable family room complete with TV adjoins the modern, country style kitchen.
Appletree Cottage has a bright main bedroom with king-size bed, built-ins and a cathedral ceiling complete with ceiling fan.
Access to the property beach is a via a secluded pathway, only one minute's walk away.

Wildwood Homestead was built by the Bury's in 1873 and has remained in their family ever since.
It has a large country kitchen with an open fire, which overlooks the old garden. The garden has two barbeque areas and wood is provided.
All you need to bring to Wildwood is bed linen (1 queen, 4 singles), towels & food. (Linen is available on request.)
The front verandah looks across the lawn, through the old palms to the lake below and over the water to the village of Metung.

The cottages are within an easy reach of Metung Village and Lakes Entrance by boat or road.
Metung Village has all the modern conveniences including cafes and restaurants, boat and bicycle hire. Skippered trips on historic sailing boats and passenger ferries or fishing expeditions can be taken from the Metung wharf, or hire the tennis courts for an afternoon hit.

Lakes Entrance is only a 15 minute drive where the artificial entrance to Bass Strait allows access from the lakes to the sea.
A footbridge across the Cunningham Arm lake allows direct access to the 90 mile beach.
