Gippsland Natural Discovery Region

To the east and south east of Melbourne lies a region rich in wildlife and natural resources. The towering granite peaks and sandy beaches that make up Wilson's Promontory are home to an amazing range of animals. Northwards are the picturesque fern gullies and rolling hills of the Strezlecki Ranges, steeped in early settler history to be explored at places like "Coal Creek". Further east wonder at the engineering marvels of Victoria's "powerhouse", the Latrobe Valley.
